What a student advisor does
A student advisor is not a salesperson. Their role is to understand your child's specific situation — their form level, their current grades, the subjects causing problems, and your goals — and give you honest, useful guidance on how to approach tutoring effectively. You will not be pushed towards the most expensive option.
Subject prioritisation
If your child is struggling across multiple subjects, an advisor helps you decide which to start with — based on exam timing, gap severity, and the likely return from tutoring in each area.
Session type advice
Group class, 1-on-1 online, or home visit — each suits different situations. An advisor will help you understand the trade-offs and recommend the right starting point for your child.
Schedule and frequency guidance
How often should your child have sessions? When is the right time to increase intensity before exams? Advisors give practical scheduling guidance based on your child's current performance and time available.
Honest expectations
If your child has significant gaps with 6 weeks to their exam, an advisor will tell you what is realistically achievable — not what you want to hear. Honest expectations lead to better outcomes.
How to reach us
You can message us at any time — we receive messages around the clock and respond during operating hours. For complex questions or when you would prefer a conversation, we can arrange a brief call via WhatsApp or a standard phone call at a time that suits you.
What to tell us when you message
Your child's form level
Form 1 through Form 6, or just 'O Level' or 'A Level'. If you know the specific sitting year (e.g. 'November 2025 O Level exams'), include that.
The subject or subjects
Tell us which subject is the problem, or list all subjects you need help with. If you are unsure which subject to start with, just describe the situation and we will advise.
Current grades or performance
A rough sense of where your child is now — 'struggling badly', 'borderline pass', 'strong in most areas but weak in one topic' — helps the advisor give more useful guidance immediately.
Your goal
Are you trying to pass? Achieve a specific grade? Catch up after illness? The goal shapes the advice — telling us upfront saves time.
Frequently asked questions
Is speaking to an advisor free?
Yes. There is no charge for a conversation with a student advisor. You only pay when you book sessions — and even the first session (the free online trial or $10 home visit trial) costs little or nothing.
How quickly do you respond on WhatsApp?
We aim to respond within 2 hours during operating hours (Monday to Saturday, 07:00–21:00). Most messages receive a response within 30–60 minutes. Messages sent outside operating hours are answered first thing the next day.
Can I speak to an advisor in person?
We are a primarily remote operation, so WhatsApp and phone calls are the normal channels. If you have a specific need for an in-person consultation, contact us and we will see what we can arrange.
What if I already have a tutor but want a second opinion?
That is fine. Student advisors can offer a second opinion on approach, subject sequencing, or whether changing session types might help. We are not trying to recruit you — we are trying to help.
